Cottage Reservations

Our cottages are rented weekly, from Saturday to Saturday. Reservations must be made by regular mail, with a check or money order. If you are interested in renting a cottage, please contact us via email at info@wellfleetbythesea.com or use the Contact page.

Cottage Assignments

The 3-bedroom cottages (#1 and #3) and the smaller two-bedroom cottage (#2) each comprise their own rental price categories. They can be rented specifically.

Cottage #4, and #’s 6-9 are the standard 2-bedroom cottages. They all have the same layout, and an occupancy limit of 5 people. We assign these cottages. If you are renting a standard two-bedroom cottage, you will learn which cottage you are assigned upon arrival. Assignments are made based on scheduling necessities, tenure, how well the cottage was left on previous stays, and stated preferences. We do try to accommodate everyone’s cottage preferences.

Rules

Our cottages are exceptionally clean and well cared-for. We expect our guests to clean up after themselves. If you are not willing to thoroughly clean the cottage before departure, Wellfleet by the Sea is not the vacation place for you.
A 2-bedroom cottage accommodates up to 5 people, with parking for 2 vehicles, maximum, including visitors.
A 3-bedroom cottage accommodates up to 7 people, with parking for 3 vehicles, maximum, including visitors.
A reservation cannot be transferred. This means the person who rents the cottage is responsible for the care of the cottage, and this person must be present for the duration of the rental.
Pets are not allowed. This includes the pets of day visitors.
Check-in is at 3:30 PM. Please contact us if you expect to arrive after 4 PM.
Check-out by 10 AM Saturday.
Walking, jumping, or playing on the dunes is not allowed. Please stick to walking paths.

Off-Season Rentals

Those interested in off-season rentals should know:

Cottage #3 is newly renovated, insulated and fully heated/air conditioned. It is comfortable from May into November.

Cottage #1 is insulated and has a powerful wall heater that keeps the main living area toasty.

Cottage #2 is unwinterized. It has an LED fireplace/heater to take the chill off.

The standard two-bedroom cottages (#'s 4, and 6-9) are NOT heated. The only heat source is the wood-burning fireplace. We provide a small space heater. In May and October, these cottages are only for the cold-hardy.

Cancellation Policy

There is a cancellation fee of $100. The rest of your deposit will be returned to you as soon as the vacancy is filled, and the next renter's deposit is received. If the cottage cannot be rented for this reservation period, the deposit will be forfeited.

Taxes

All rates are subject to 17.45% tax. All tax is due upon arrival, along with the balance of the weekly rental.

Beach House Reservations

The Beach House is rented weekly, from Sunday to Sunday.

Reservations must be made by regular mail, with a check or money order.

Refundable Security Deposit

There is a refundable cleaning and security deposit of $400 for newcomers, in addition to the rental fee. The security deposit goes to fees incurred due to damages, or to cleaning if the Beach House not cleaned according to provided guidelines. The security deposit will be due with the initial rental deposit. Provided the Beach House is left in good shape, it will be refunded by mail after departure.

Cancellation Policy

If you must cancel a reservation, there will be a cancellation fee of $100. The rest of your deposit will be returned to you as soon as the vacancy is filled, and the next renter's deposit is received. If the cottage cannot be rented for this reservation period, the deposit will be forfeited.

Rules

The Beach House is carefully appointed, and exceptionally clean. We expect our guests to clean up after themselves, so we may keep it so.
The Beach House will accommodate a maximum of 8 people, and parking for 4 vehicles. This includes guests. There will be no exceptions to these maximum limits.
A reservation cannot be transferred. This means the person who rents the cottage is responsible for the care of the cottage, and must be present for the duration of the rental.
Pets are not allowed. This includes the pets of day visitors.
Check-in is 5 PM Sunday. Please contact us if you expect to arrive after 5 PM. Check-out is 10:00 AM Sunday.
Due to rapid erosion of our precious dunes, we ask that you stay on our paths and sandy areas. Please stay off the dune, and the fragile vegetation.

Taxes
